Design Aims
The design aims were:
- To seamlessly interface with MBM running on remote systems
- To determine processor type and loading on remote systems
- To determine remote system's identity
- To determine size and free space on hard discs on remote systems
- To use minimal resources on remote systems
- To allow an unlimited number of remote systems to be monitored
- To use TCP to communicate with remote systems thus providing minimal impact on running programs
- To display all required information on a single screen.
Did I meet those aims? The picture tells the story.
Largely - yes! The only restriction was that I was only able to display the hard disc data for the first 5 hard discs whilst at the same time
showing all of the other data that I wished to present. It would be very easy to provide a second display screen that provided details of all
hard discs and possibly other information that I have not collected - but that is for a later date!
What's that - 'why the 100% loading' - simple my system runs SETI 24/7........
